What is the Registration Process?

Teams start by completing the application form to help us ensure balanced, competitive divisions. Our volunteer committee will review each application and place teams in the best-fit division. If there are discrepancies between requested and suggested divisions, the team representative will be contacted to finalize placement.

Once divisions are set, the team representative will receive a registration and payment link via email. By completing this step - your team will be considered fully registered and a confirmation email, containing 'Next Steps' will be sent to the Team Representative.

What is the Application Deadline?

To guarantee your team a spot in the tournament, you MUST complete the Team Application by January 31, 2025. Applications received after this date may/may not be accommodated - based on division capacities.

Applications will be reviewed, and division placements finalized. To confirm your team spot, be sure to complete the Registration & Payment link as soon as possible.

Who is the Team Representative?

The team representative is the individual who submitted the initial team application.

My kid was placed in the Squirt division for the 2024/25 Season - but his/her date of birth is within the Mite/8U range - can he/she play in this tournament?

Yes - as long as your child's date of birth is after June 1, 2015 - he/she is welcome to play in the tournament, at an appropriate level.

When are final rosters due?

The team representative must submit the finalized roster by February 15, 2025. This must include: Athlete First/Last Names, DOB, Hometown, Player Position.

Are Jerseys & Socks Included?

Jersey and socks are not included; teams are responsible for providing their own. We requested jersey color in the application form, so we can ensure two teams will not play each other with same color jerseys.

However, we will provide TitleWave jerseys for the 2025 Fargo FaceOff, Fall Edition - October 10-12, 2025. Stay tuned for new team names and designs.

Elite 2017 Division : Does the Goalie need to wear goalie equipment?

Yes, goalies in the 2017 Elite division are required to wear full goalie equipment. This will not be provided by the tournament staff.

What is the game format?

Games will be played full-ice with referees, standard rules including offsides, icing, and penalties. Each game ensures a competitive and authentic hockey experience. Full tournament rules will be shared before the tournament. Coaches will also receive a printed copy of the tournament rules and regulations.

Youth hockey nets will be used for all divisions, to suit the players' skill level.

Will there be Free Agent Teams?

There will not be designated free agent teams. However, if there is enough interest for players to form a team and a coach is willing to organize the group and collect the team registration fees, they are welcome to play as an organized team. Individual players may also apply through the individual application process, and if space is available, they may be placed on a team. Final acceptance of additional players is at the discretion of the team coach.

The Fargo FaceOff director and volunteer team will do our best to place as many players on teams as possible.

Where do I find the Individual Player Application form?

Please note, this is only for players who are not already connected with a team for the tournament (aka: Free Agent players).

What is the Opening Night Event & Skills Competition

Get ready for a memorable start to the tournament. The Opening Night Event & Skills Competition is a family-friendly, action-packed celebration that is free for all tournament athletes and their families.

Athletes will have the chance to show off their skills and have some fun at a variety of exciting skill-based stations both on and off the ice. From team relays to individual challenges, this event is designed to bring out the best in every player while kicking off the weekend with high-energy excitement.
