FAQ
What is the Fargo FaceOff?
The Fargo FaceOff is a premier youth hockey tournament & sporting event company, designed to create unforgettable experiences for athletes and their families. Featuring competitive games, off-ice fun, and a family-friendly atmosphere, it's more than a tournament - it's where hockey memories are made.
Who can participate in tournaments hosted by The Fargo FaceOff?
The Fargo FaceOff specializes in younger divisions, cultivating a foundation of confidence and fun for future hockey players.
We host tournaments which are open to kids as young as 5 years old, and include divisions for recreational and competitive teams. However, the Midwest Mites Cup is only open to Mite or 8U level players, with the exception of the Elite 2017 division.

What sets the Fargo FaceOff tournaments apart from other events in the area?
We go beyond hockey games by offering off-ice fun, and unique experiences. At past tournaments, we have hosted a barbershop at the rink, where athletes, siblings, and/or parents could get their haircut, while watching their friends play hockey. We have invited social media influencers to keep the energy high around the rink. We even served free donuts each morning, at the 2024 Kit Kat Cup.
With medals for the top 3 teams in each division, engaging activities, and great merchandise, our tournaments deliver an All-Star experience for everyone.
Are parents required to volunteer?
Our tournaments thrive thanks to many volunteers! Roles like score keepers and "Dad DJs" are easy to learn. We have trained volunteers who support our parents that are willing to pop in as score keeper or DJ for occasional games.
While it is not mandatory that you volunteer throughout the weekend, it is a fun way to get involved, meet new families, and contribute to the overall experience for all!
How do you ensure competitive play for teams of varying levels?
*NEW March 2025*
We are implementing tiered divisions within each age group, to match teams of similar skill levels, creating competitive and enjoyable games for all participants. While our events are not USA Sanctioned, this is a challenging task. We are grateful for our team of volunteers who work together to review team applications and place teams to our best knowledge.
How can we stay updated on tournament news and upcoming events?
Follow the Fargo FaceOff on social media (Facebook and Instagram) for all announcements, schedules, and updates. We also use our social media platforms to share amazing action shots captured by talented, local photographers and videographers.
