Kick off the Midwest Mites Cup tournament with an unforgettable evening of high-energy hockey fun! Watch athletes shine under the lights during our Glow in the Dark Event and Skills Competition, featuring dazzling displays of speed, accuracy, and creativity. This vibrant atmosphere will set the tone for an amazing weekend!
Whether you are a little sibling "just here for the snacks," a parent cheering on your athlete, or a player racing around the rink with teammates, this opening night is packed with can't-miss fun!
This is more than just a skills competition - it is an opening night event! From thrilling competition on the ice to delicious food trucks, off-ice fun, and a party atmosphere, this is where friendships start, teams bond, and tournament memories are made!

Teams, it is time to light up the ice!
Grab your neon tape, laces, glow necklaces, or whatever creative ideas you can come up with - let's make this a team-building night to remember! The brighter, the better! Neons will really shine under these blue and purple lights! Think 90s Glow Party!
We can't wait to see the creative ideas you come up with - to make your helmet, jersey, and socks GLOW!
OFF-ICE FOOD
SMOKE MY BUTT BBQ
We are bringing back a fan-favorite from the 2024 Kit Kat Cup!
Smoke My Butt BBQ Food Truck will be parked outside, serving up pulled pork nachos and hotdog combos!
KREBS COTTON CANDY
Your athlete and sibling rink rats won't want to miss out on a local favorite treat - custom cotton candy buckets by Krebs! This is an absolute MUST for every neon legend!
While the event is free, food and treats will be available for purchase. Come hungry and support these awesome local vendors!
OFF-ICE FUN
MINI STICKS ZONE
Bring your mini stick (but don't forget to label it) and play with friends, before and after your ice time.
HIDDEN NEON PUCKS
Keep your eyes peeled! We've hidden 15 neon pucks around the rink. Find one and claim your prize at the tournament merchandise booth!
... And that's not it! Join us at the Opening Night event to see what other fun off-ice activities we have planned!
TWO ICE SESSIONS PER DIVISION:
1) Skills Competition - Hosted by a legendary team of hockey dads! Players will compete for bragging rights in the following challenges:
- FASTEST SKATER
- HARDEST SHOT
- SHOOT OUT SNIPER
- TOP 'TENDER
2) Glow Skate & Relay Race - Under the lights, players will hit the ice for a glow-in-the-dark team relay race and free skate. DJ-Dad, Shane Reed, will keep the energy high with the best beats!
SKILLS COMP REGISTRATION
To participate in a specialty event at the Neon Legends Skills Competition, all players must complete the sign-up form by Thursday March 13th at 9:00pm CST.
No later entries will be accepted. If your athlete is not signed up by the deadline, he/she will not be able to compete in the Fastest Skater, Hardest shot, or Top Goaltender events.
Reminder: All Athletes are automatically included in the Glow Skate & Team Relay Race - no sign up needed!

REMEMBER:
- All tournament athletes are eligible to compete in the Skills Comp & Glow Skate
- Athletes must be ready 10 minutes before their scheduled session
- Skates, Helmet, Gloves, Sticks required
- Full Equipment is optional (Except for Goalies)
- Bring your Mini Stick, Labeled with Name!
- Get creative and glow-up your jersey and helmet with neon tape, laces, and accessories!
